fivethings11. Tory Burch’s Emma tweed pants are a fresh hit for spring. The bright colors together with the classic woven fabric make for the perfect combination to transition to warmer temperatures.

2. You probably know by now that I have a thing for playful, fun sweaters. This DVF heart locket sweater is my new favorite. It is thin enough to wear year-round at the office.

3. I have never been so excited about office accessories as when I came across Russell & Hazel’s lucite desk toppers featured here. I am a firm believer that your mind works better when surrounded by beautiful things. My favorites are the tray, stapler, and note cards. Your desk has never felt so fabulous.

4. I love to find inspiration or ideas I can bring into my home. I could look at pictures of beautifully styled rooms or spaces all day. Just the title alone sold me on this one. The Big Book of Chic by Miles Reed features bold designs and charming quotes for a great read or coffee table display. We can all use a little more chic in our lives, so why not buy the book?

5. I envy those fashionistas who can wear a wrist full of bracelets with style. There is an art to stacking your bracelets and bangles just right. This picture caught my eye because the look is chic, but not too bulky or busy for work. Recreate the look with these pieces here, here, here, and here.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

1. A few years ago, my mom gave me an inspiration board with all of my favorite things and featuring some of my goals.  After seeing this picture, I love the idea of having one in your office. Even if you are not in the design or fashion industry, an inspiration board can be a spot of focus, creativity, and insight throughout the day. We all need a bright spot in the office!

2. I am loving monogrammed jewelry right now.  A little personal touch makes a piece of jewelry all the more special.  The bold shape of this Jennifer Zeuner ring gives it a slightly masculine feel.  Personalized with your initials, it becomes an everyday classic you can wear for years to come.

3. Rachel Zoe’s everyday tote really is the perfect go-to tote for day-to-day life. I love it in this rich red color.

4. Jason Wu’s new contemporary collection designed exclusively for Nordstrom is here! Miss Wu features updated feminine pieces in bold, fresh prints, at all significantly lower prices than Jason Wu’s famed signature collection. My favorite is this geometric chiffon top. Check out the entire collection here.

5. Club Monaco debuted its new arrivals for spring featuring lots of cobalt and orange. I am kind of addicted to cobalt right now. It works year-round and is the perfect color to take you into spring. I am loving this polka-dot sweater and floral-trimmed blouse for work.

Happy Wednesday!

fivethings5Today, I officially enter into the last year of my twenties. I have to admit, getting close to the thirties is a little scary, but mostly exciting. Hey, things can only get better, right? For my big day, I bring you my birthday wish list featuring some of my current favorites.

1. Clover Canyon is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. The unique, vibrant prints that define this brand transform everyday favorites into instant statement pieces. This blazer will look great with jeans on the weekend or with black pants for work.

2. There is nothing like the power of a great pair of shoes. Shoes with a little bit of shine can take your typical work outfit and make it something memorable. I am craving these metallic pumps for a sleek and shiny look, and these metallic flats for casual Friday’s at the office.

3. Tibi’s new arrivals are bright, fresh, and fun. Their spring line is full of great transition pieces to take you from the office to happy hour or dinner with friends with style. My favorite is this coral skirt. Now, if only I can get over my fear of wearing white to the office…

4. An ideal tote is one that is sophisticated enough for the workweek, but fun enough for the weekend. This Loeffler Randall tote works for both. With neutral colors and a pop of snakeskin, it will go with everything and add a touch of luxe to your look. I saw it in person recently, and the rich, buttery leather is to die for. I also love it in blue here.

5. Confession: I can shop for clothes all day long, but when it comes to getting new items for my condo, I dream big, but rarely act. I tend to get comfortable with the ways things are and neglect to seek out really great pieces that will add something special to my home. So, this year, I am resolving to put more effort into my home decor. I have decided to start small by adding chic accent pieces to change up the look and feel of my living area. Lulu & Georgia has unique, modern pieces that have a classy feel. This pillow and table are on my wish list. Do you have home stores you love? Let me know!

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas may still be a week away (and only three work days!), but I already have Christmas morning on my mind.  So, I bring you Five Things, Christmas edition, with the cozy things I am craving for the holiday festivities.

1. This Emma Cook sweater, with its little bit of shimmer and shine, captures the holiday spirit.  You can dress it up with a skirt and tights if your family does Christmas on the fancy side, or keep it casual with corduroy pants and boots for a laid-back Christmas day.

2. My favorite holiday tradition is a simple one – gathering around the tree on Christmas morning in our Christmas pajamas to open presents.  Now that I am older (and no longer the kid in the family), I love watching my nephews run out with excitement and anticipation to see what Santa brought.  Those moments, with my all of my family together, are priceless.  I am dreaming of these super soft Equipment pajamas for Christmas morning (also love this Gap set).

3. To go with your pajamas, you of course need slippers to complete the Christmas morning look.  These Marc by Marc Jacobs slippers are a cozy, cute version of my favorite mouse flats.

4. Christmas is all about spending time with loved ones.  My family keeps it casual, enjoying time at home with good food and the best company.  My little nephews are always dying to go outside and play – rain or shine.  That means I need a cozy accessory like this Marc by Marc Jacobs hat to stay warm while enjoying family time.

5. Add a little holiday bling to your outfit with this Bauble Bar necklace.  No matter what the occasion, there is always room for a little glitz and glam.

Bottom line – whether you have all the right accessories, the best part of the holidays is spending time with your family and friends.  I am counting down the days until the festivities start!

1. A shirtdress is one of those classic staples for work. I love this Anthropologie shirtdress in bright blue. You can wear it with a blazer for a client meeting, or dressed up with jewels and a cute belt for after-hours. The possibilities are endless with this versatile piece you can wear year-round!

2. Isaay.com is one of my favorite online retailers.  Isaay features favorite contemporary designers like Parker, Elizabeth & James, Rachel Roy, Equipment, Current/Elliott, Rebecca Minkoff, and Joie. The best part?  They have fabulous deals. We are talking 30%, 40%, sometimes 50% off.  My favorite is the daily ladies’ lunch where you can get 40% off one brand. Who doesn’t love a little mid-workday shopping? Right now, I am loving these Christopher Fischer owl and fox sweaters for work or play!

3. My sister turned me onto infinity scarves this fall, and I am hooked. I love throwing on one comfy piece that instantly warms me up for those colds days (we have just a few here in Texas).  No wrapping or trying necessary – it is done for you.  Michael Kors has a great colorblock and leopard print version of my new favorite accessory.

4. Minnie and Emma’s personalized Iphone and Ipad cases are my new favorite thing.  You can personalize the graphic print of your choice (they have fabulous options) to make your case an original.  These cases also make great gifts!

5. Heading out to happy hour or dinner after work? These MAC makeup palettes (touch-up and sinfully chic) hold all of the essentials for a quick freshen-up.  The adorable case can also double as a clutch for your after-work event.

Hope you all are having a great week!
