Oxfords are a great addition to your weekend wardrobe.  Oxford shoes have been on trend for women for several seasons now, and it looks like they are here to stay for spring.  These laced-up lovies have been on my mind for a while, but I suddenly feel like I cannot live without a pair.  I am particularly excited about a shiny, silver pair for spring (hello, Loeffler Randall).  Oxfords are inherently casual, but can be dressed up or down to fit your weekend look.  What do they go with?  Literally everything.  As seen here, they look great with flared skirts, boyfriend jeans, skinnies, or printed pants.  I am loving all the options.  Borrowed from the boys, I think they look pretty fabulous on us girls.

Thank goodness it is Friday! Looking forward to a wonderful weekend with gorgeous weather here in Texas!

Sweaters + Skirts

I love the juxtaposition of a slouchy sweater with a mini skirt.  The two are unexpected, yet seemingly perfect together.  As we get ready to switch seasons, this look will serve you well for the transition into spring.  The versatility of this look allows you to dress it down with a knit skirt and moto boots, or style it up for a fancier affair with a flashy skirt and high-heeled booties.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I am looking forward to continuing the birthday celebrations this weekend!

43136108900819402_BsBQ2Ysv_ctumblr_maah2cCl7J1rulg6zo1_500I typically shy away from “oversized” pieces.  Again, it goes back to the petite thing – I fear looking like a little kid in my mom’s clothes (it can happen, I promise).  But, my mind can always be changed when I see pieces worn the right way.  Here is just a sampling of my inspiration to try oversized sweaters.  These ladies manage to make a chunky, oversized knit look sophisticated and chic.  They key is balance.  Pair your oversized sweater with slimmer bottoms and keep the accessories minimal – the sweater will steal the show.  With the right fit, an oversized sweater works with virtually anything – boyfriend jeans for a casual look, a sequined mini for a dressier occassion, leather skinnies for a night out, or matchstick pants for work.  I am sold – time to add some oversized knits to my wardrobe!

Check out a few of my oversized favorites here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.  Happy Friday! This is my one and only day of work this week – hope I make it!

The holiday parties are in full swing so I’ve got festive clothes on my mind. Shimmer, sequins, fur, lace, and feathers are all in order. This time of year, you can really go all out with your party gear. Whether you are enjoying cocktails at a fancy soirée, or sipping hot cocoa at home with friends, it is fun to get dressed up and celebrate in style.  Here are some of my favorite festive pieces to get you through the holiday season.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with holiday celebrations! Christmas is almost here!
