Oxfords are a great addition to your weekend wardrobe.  Oxford shoes have been on trend for women for several seasons now, and it looks like they are here to stay for spring.  These laced-up lovies have been on my mind for a while, but I suddenly feel like I cannot live without a pair.  I am particularly excited about a shiny, silver pair for spring (hello, Loeffler Randall).  Oxfords are inherently casual, but can be dressed up or down to fit your weekend look.  What do they go with?  Literally everything.  As seen here, they look great with flared skirts, boyfriend jeans, skinnies, or printed pants.  I am loving all the options.  Borrowed from the boys, I think they look pretty fabulous on us girls.

Thank goodness it is Friday! Looking forward to a wonderful weekend with gorgeous weather here in Texas!

Snow skiing is one of my absolute favorite things to do. You never feel further from the office (and reality for that matter) than at the top of the slope with nothing but white powder and endless mountain landscape surrounding you.  Plus, I love cold sweater and cozy mountain towns. Sadly, I am not taking a ski trip this year. So, when one of my friends asked me to feature outfits for her upcoming ski trip, I jumped at the chance to live vicariously through her. Hey, if you cannot go, plan the outfits, right?

I rarely sacrifice fashion for the weather, but when hitting the slopes, warmth comes first, fashion second.  All you need is a chic jacket and a snazzy hat to be fashionable on the mountain.  Underneath, it is all about the layers.  When out on the town, load up on the accessories for extra warmth.  A little fur trim never hurt either.

Have a favorite ski spot? Let me know! I love Telluride, Colorado, but am always looking for new places to try. Happy weekend!

On Trend: Tartan

This classic plaid print is on trend for fall/winter and could not be more fitting for this time of year.  Long gone are the days when tartan was used only for private school uniforms or Scottish kilts.  This season, designers have modernized the preppy plaid print, designing tartan in brighter colors and lighter fabrics.  These pieces take tartan out of its traditional role and into chic, sophisticated statement items that will make a point at the office.  I still love the traditional red and green tartan plaid – especially at this time of year!

Here are some of my current favorites to add to your fall work wardrobe. These pieces all caught my eye, and I just could not resist sharing with you! This Ted Baker peplum jacket is one of my favorites.  The color is rich and the shape is fierce.  I have been eyeing this Tory Burch haircalf satchel for months.  Fierce and fabulous, it will add instant style to your work outfit.  And, how cute are these Alice + Olivia flats?  I love mixing in playful pieces for work.  I am having a Club Monaco moment right now.  Their fall pieces are the perfect combination of style and comfort.  Check out other favorites here, here, and here.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!
